Many years ago, before marriage and the kids, I used to write poetry. They were words that flowed from my heart, my life, my questions, my thoughts, my environment, my imagination, my relationship with God and the people in my life. And then I took a long break.
This year I am hoping to get back to writing poetry as the words come to heart. Perhaps those words will bless a soul and inspire hope and faith in someone’s heart. Today’s addition to the Inspiring Hope Poetry Collection- Free!
Inspiring Hope Poetry Collection- Rivers of Hope!
“A river may rise and overflow its banks, but it will never cease to flow. So it is with hope; it may be challenged, but it cannot be extinguished.” – Unknown
Like bustling tides wading through the ocean,
Like the sun rising at the break of dawn,
Like shimmering stars set high up in the sky,
My heart is full of hope.
In the deep valley of pain and affliction,
In the emptiness of grief and loss,
In the uncertainty of an unknown future,
Let my eyes look to God for hope.
Hope rekindled,
Hope renewed,
Hope alive,
I will rejoice in hope.
When life’s trials seem daunting.
When sinking in rivers so deep.
When tomorrow feels so far away.
I will hold on to my confession of hope.
Rivers of Hope!
Keep me afloat in the storm.
Still the so turbulent waters in my life.
Surround me with peace and strength.
Rivers of Hope!
Still my soul when fear surrounds me.
Hold me up in the valley of doubt.
Speak to me in the deafening silence.
Rivers of Hope!
Let it flow within me,
And with every twist and turn,
I am awakened with faith and strength.
Put your hope in God Almighty.
Embrace the living word of God.
For hope is a beautiful thing.
And may my hope never die.
“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” – Harriet Beecher Stowe
