8 Characteristics of Godly Wisdom
Godly wisdom comes from God. And this is because true wisdom can only be found in God and has its foundation in God. There is a wisdom found in the world and there is also the wisdom that comes from man.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness” I Corinthians 3:19
Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? I Corinthians 1:20
Whenever a man chooses to follow his own ways and refuses to yield to God’s leadership, he is on the path of foolishness. There is a wisdom that comes to bear in the world, and many have been led into destructive and painful paths because they heeded to this wisdom.
God calls the wisdom the world gives foolishness and God’s wisdom is always beyond human reasoning. You cannot walk in God’s wisdom and be disadvantaged in life. So, what does God’s wisdom look like. “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17 NIV
“But the wisdom from above is first pure [morally and spiritually undefiled], then peace-loving [courteous, considerate], gentle, reasonable [and willing to listen], full of compassion and good fruits. It is unwavering, without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile]. James 3:17 AMP
