Why Your Child’s Salvation Matters?

Do you desire that your child would come to know Jesus and accept God’s gift of salvation? As parents, we all have good desires for our children. You want them to excel in their academics, sports and abilities. You want them to be kind and compassionate humans. You also want them to thrive and flourish as they journey through life. However, desiring that your child will get to accept Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior is a desire that must never leave your heart. This is why you should say a prayer for your child’s salvation.

One of the greatest legacies you can ever give your child is a legacy of faith in God and walking with God. Also, praying that your child will be saved and grow to have a deep relationship with God is a gift worth giving to your child. Imagine a world filled with saved godly children living out their true identity in God.

The devil is fully aware of what can happen; so he is working tirelessly day and night planting false ideas, concepts and agendas to lure children away from the path God has already ordained for them to walk. A saved child is a big threat to the kingdom of darkness. God must never become a distant image in your child’s head and life.

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children. And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.’ Matthew 19:13-15 NLT

Jesus himself said – Let the children come to me. Children matter to God and will always have a significant role to play in his plan for humanity. God knows that children have an important role to play in the building of legacies. They are the ones who will carry God’s message of hope and redemption from one generation to the next.

This is why you have a role to play in the unveiling of your child’s salvation story. You cannot save your child as a parent, only God can. But, you can go to God and pray intentionally for your child’s salvation. The bible says this – “God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” -1 Timothy 2:4. God desires that your child is saved and has a relationship with him.

15 Scriptures to Pray for Your Unsaved Child

1 . I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow My decrees and be careful to keep My laws. They will be My people, and I will be their God. – Ezekiel 11:19-20

Prayer:

Lord, take away my child’s heart of stone and give him a heart of flesh. Give him a heart that is submissive to you and put a new spirit in him.

2 . Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me. – Revelation 3:20

Prayer:

Lord, knock at the door of my child’s heart. Open my child’s ears to hear you knocking and convict him today to respond to your voice.

Father, open my child’s heart to seek you with all his heart. May he find you as he seeks to know you and your word.

Heavenly father, call my child to you today. Justify, sanctify and glorify him before you this day.

Lord, I ask that you cause my child to acknowledge Jesus shamelessly before men.

A Simple Prayer for Your Child’s Salvation

Today, I pray that my child will come to God and accept his gift of salvation. I break the power of the devil over my child’s mind and claim his full salvation in Christ Jesus.

Lord, I ask that you impress your name and presence upon my child’s heart daily. Put him in places where he will hear and know more about you. Surround him with people who will always point him to God. May he never be lured into the world’s way of thinking and doing things.

I ask that you fill my child’s heart with a deep desire to know Jesus. Help him to know and experience the height, width and depth of God’s love for him. Open his heart to seek and find you early in life. Lead him to you Lord and help him to renounce and confess his sins before you. I declare that with his mouth, he will accept Jesus into his heart and make him Lord over his life. I rejoice at my child’s salvation and say boldly that you __________believe in and belong to God. Amen!
