We currently live in a world riddled with negativity, sin and depravity, and you must as a parent make it a duty to always say a prayer for your child’s mind.
A preacher once said these words – “What goes into a mind comes out in a life.” In other words, the things that go into a person’s mind will always reflect in the person’s values, character and belief system.
It is true that a child’s mind is like a sponge and has the ability to absorb and retain information easily. And the devil is taking advantage of this ability to plant evil seeds, ideas and sin into their tender minds every single day.
Also, children’s books and movies are now being subtly infused with ungodly and perverse ideas/stories to feed the minds of young children. It is your responsibility as a parent to guard what goes into your child’s mind. And a great place to start is to constantly pray over your child’s mind.

A Prayer for Your Child’s Mind
Heavenly father, I come to you today and release my child’s mind to you. (Insert your child’s name)
I ask that you guard and protect his mind from the decadence and corruption that is in the world. May my child’s mind not wander to dangerous territories. May his/her mind be always alert and aware of Satan’s ploy to lure him/her into sin. Lord, I ask that you help my child to keep his/her mind focused on you at all times.
I declare that my child’s mind will not conform to the patterns and systems of the world. But that his/her mind will be daily renewed by the word and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for helping my child love you with all of his/her heart, soul and mind. I declare that even as he/she keeps his mind fixed on you, he/she will experience your peace like a river and the power of your unfailing love.
Lord, help my child to set his/her mind on things that are of God and not earthly things. Weed off from his/her mind and reasoning things that do not bring glory and honor to your name. May he/she always keep his/her mind on things that are pure, just, honest, godly, right and noble.
Heavenly father, I ask that you give my child a mind that is open to understanding scriptures. Let your word always come alive in his/her mind at all times. May he/she use his/her mind to understand, investigate and search out wisdom and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the consequences that comes with foolishness.
I declare that my child is not double-minded. The knowledge of God will always be retained in his/her mind and he/she will never be given over to a debased mind in the name of Jesus.

I declare today and always that my child has the mind of Christ. He/she will not be led astray in his/her mind through deceptive and perverse thoughts. Thank you Lord for sanctifying his/her mind with your truth and cleansing his/her thoughts with your holy word.
Lord, I thank you for giving my child a sound mind. His/her mind is not dull, hostile or alienated from God and his word. I thank you for blessing my child with a mind that seeks to know God and is thirsty for the knowledge of the most high God.
Father, I ask today that only thoughts that will refresh, renew, build and empower will fill my child’s mind. May the mind that was in Christ Jesus be the mind that is in my child. I also pray that my child will always recall the greatness, faithfulness and goodness of God in his/her mind, so that his/her hope will always stand secure in God.
May my child’s mind never be governed by the flesh but daily controlled by the Spirit of God. Christ has set the mind of my child free, therefore ungodly, impure, depressive thoughts will not hold his/her mind captive. Thank you Lord for opening my child’s mind wide so that your wisdom, knowledge and understanding will flow in like a river.
Lord, I ask that you help my child to always embrace and comprehend the truth of your word in his/her mind. May he/she always understand the mind of God in every season of his/her life.
I pray that my child will be emboldened to always ask the Lord to examine his/her mind and heart, so that he/she will continue to walk in your truth all the days of his/her life. And I declare that my child’s mind will remain steadfast as he/she trusts in you and lives a life that brings glory to your name. Amen!
This is such a good reminder to be aware and intentional of what is entering our children’s minds! Of course we can’t control everything, and we shouldn’t, but we can make sure that they are getting Scripture and truth regularly poured into their minds and souls!
God help us to keep pouring into their minds the truth of God’s word. Thanks for reading.
Thank you so much for this gentle reminder to keep praying over our kids and to keep filling them with the Word. This was the perfect message for me today!

Hi. Thank you for a great post! I wish there was something like this to remind me to pray for my daughter when I was a young mom. (I am older and pray for her now.) God bless.
Yes. WE learn and grow in our journey as mothers. It is always never too late to start. Thanks for reading.
