Inspiring Hope Poetry Collection- Smile!

Many years ago, before marriage and the kids, I used to write poetry. They were words that flowed from my heart, my life, my questions, my thoughts, my environment, my imagination, my relationship with God and the people in my life. And then I took a long break.

This year I am hoping to get back to writing poetry as the words come to heart. Perhaps those words will bless a soul and inspire hope and faith in someone’s heart.

Inspiring Hope Poetry Collection – Smile!

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” – Desmond Tutu

Smile!
For many reasons.
For every good thing.
For every blessing.
For every dawn of a brand new day.

Smile!
Even when the tears come pouring.
Even when it feels dark all around.
Even when words fail you.
Even when it looks like God is silent.

Smile!
At the peace that comes with the break of dawn.
At the light that breaks forth at the rising of the sun.
At the splattering sound of raindrops as they hit the ground.
At the music from the birds tweeting away in the comfort of their world.

Smile!
For the love that surrounds you like the strong high walls of an ancient city.
For the ears that listen when you speak and when you are silent.
For the arms that are strong enough to hold and soothe you in the low and hard moments.
For the ones that are always near loving and praying for you.

Smile!
Because God will give you many reasons to smile.
Because you can smile through the pain, grief and distress.
Because you will find and recall a memory, a place, a person, an experience that made you smile.
Because you can and will smile.

Smile!
