Inspiring Hope Poetry Collection – Light!

Many years ago, before marriage and the kids, I used to write poetry. They were words that flowed from my heart, my life, my questions, my thoughts, my environment, my imagination, my relationship with God and the people in my life. And then I took a long break.

This year I am hoping to get back to writing poetry as the words come to heart. Perhaps those words will bless a soul and inspire hope and faith in someone’s heart.

Inspiring Hope Poetry Collection – Light!

For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.1 Thessalonians 5:5

Light!

Brighter than the morning sun.
A part of his essence.
King of the Universe.
Father of lights.

The Greater Light.
Revealed in Christ.
The Radiance of his Glory
The true light that gives life to all men.

Light of the World.
Piercing through the darkness.
Breaking the power of the devil.
Bringing us back into the light.

He is the true light.
In him there is no darkness.
This light Shines on in darkness.
And the darkness could not comprehend it.

God is light.
Pure, Holy and True.
Revealer of truth.
Illuminator of our faith.

God’s Word is light
Living and active.
Sent forth in power.
Guiding my feet along the way.

And he said – Let there be light.
And there was light.
Darkness had to flee.
Bringing us to the realm of his light.

Giver of light.
Builder of lives.
Every good and perfect gift.
From the father of the heavenly lights.

Called out of darkness.
Into his marvelous light.
Light up the world.
As you let your light shine.

Walk in this light.
Live in this light.
Become the light.
And your path will keep shining brighter and brighter.

We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine. – Dwight L. Moody

  1. Ufuoma, what a beautiful, inspiring poem! I’m glad you are getting back to writing poetry. I also had a time when my children were young that I didn’t write as much, and I’ve enjoyed getting back to it. Your poem and photo bring such joy, reminding me of the Light of the World – Jesus, our God, who created all out of nothing. It inspires me to worship our great God! Blessings to you! xo
