Dear Mother – You Will be Fine

Dear Mother,

How do mothers survive hard times?

I watched my mother walk through helpless and hopeless situations unbroken. She walked through every dark and difficult  season with so much calm and hope.

She often always believed that there was light at the end of every dark tunnel. And this is why a mother’s hope and faith must never go dim.

I know that you feel helpless. I know that your purse is empty right now. I can see you looking through the shelves, hoping to find a meal or cereal for your children to have breakfast.

I see the tears and pain in your eyes. The tears came dashing down after the house owner shamed you in public for not paying your rent. You are breaking and your world is falling apart.

You cry yourself to sleep many nights. Your eyes swollen from the many sleepless nights. You weep unending for your children’s future. You wonder if you will ever be able to give them the life they deserve.

‘ Where will my help come from?’, these words you mumble to yourself daily. But guess what, my mother walked through her hard times, and came out victorious, you will too.

I want you to keep hope alive. I want you to speak life in the midst of hopelessness. I want you to see what God has said about you. I want you to look in the mirror and say to yourself, ‘I will come through this season unbroken.’

Did you know that adversity will introduce you to yourself? Oh yes, it will.

You will discover how strong and brave you are. And you will find out that you are braver than you think, stronger than you seem and tougher than you imagine.

I want to let you know dear mother, that these hard times will pass, because God is and will always be right by your side.

Yes, he will. He will hold you close. He will whisper words to you. He will make a way for you.

Will you trust him through your tough and difficult seasons?
