ARE YOUR FEARS LIMITING YOU?

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” – Dale Carnegie

I have often wondered what might have become of renowned motivational speaker, Les Brown, if he never broke away from the negative words spoken to him as a young boy. The words ‘Educable Mentally Retarded’ would have stuck to him like glue, limiting him from becoming all that he was meant to be.

But words spoken to him by his teacher eventually liberated him from that limitation and label that was thrown at him. His teacher said to him, ‘Never let anybody’s opinion of you become your reality.’

Now, it is your turn.

Have your fears become your own limitation? Are your fears holding you back from pursuing your dreams?
Are life’s challenges killing those visions you have for your life? Are you letting your weaknesses determine who you can become?

Do you know that there is so much potential in you? And that the world needs to hear your voice.
What then are you waiting for? You can strip off your fears and shatter those limitations right away.
You can shut out your fears and let this light of yours shine brightly for the world to see.

Will you?

I leave you to think about the words of this poem by Marianne Williamson.

Marianne Williamson – Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
