A Poem – I am Home

I wrote this Poem on the 3rd Anniversary of the death of my Father-in-law. It was as if these words were gently whispered into my heart.

This poem is for every one who is grieving the death of a loved one. I pray that you find some comfort as you read these words. Also, may the moments you shared and memories created always remain in your hearts. May gratitude always fill your heart each time you remember the times spent together here on earth.

A Poem – I am Home

I am home!

Happy where I am,

Lights so bright,

Angels all around.

I am home!

Away from life’s troubles.

Shielded from the unknowns.

Free from it all.

I am home!

My earthly body’s peak attained,

I slipped quietly into eternity,

Into the loving arms of my Savior.

I am home!

Faraway from those I once loved.

For we were once family.

Carefully synched together by God.

I am home!

Though goodbyes are never easy.

I said mine long before you even knew.

Surrounded by those I truly loved.

I am home!

Though you wished I stayed longer.

But my days were numbered.

And God said it was time.

I am home!

Weep not my dear.

Grieve my absence in ways you can.

Only let my life and stories remain.

(In loving memory of my Father in Law Remi Fijabi who slept in the Lord on the January 21st, 2023)
