Many years ago, before marriage and the kids, I used to write poetry. They were words that flowed from my heart, my life, my questions, my thoughts, my environment, my imagination, my relationship with God and the people in my life. And then I took a long break.
This year I am hoping to get back to writing poetry as the words come to heart. Perhaps those words will bless a soul and inspire hope and faith in someone’s heart. Today’s addition to the Inspiring Hope Poetry Collection- At his Feet!
“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, For He is our God”—Psalm 95:6-7
At his feet!
I’d let the tears flow,
Let out cries from the depth of my soul,
Pour out my heart like a river,
Shut my eyes from a judging world.
At his feet!
Nothing matters anymore,
I’m like an open book before him,
In my hopelessness and pain, I found him,
And this is where I want to be.
At his feet!
With a heart aching and breaking ,
And burdens too heavy to bear.
Only faith has carried me this far,
And now I am here.
At his feet!
Broken and helpless.
Until I ran to him.
And fell at his feet.
In search of hope, freedom, deliverance and healing.
Yes, I am here.
At the feet of Jesus.
Holding him close.
Never letting go.
I will wait in the silence.
I will listen for his voice.
At his feet!
I’m enveloped in his presence.
Longing for a word from his lips saying-
You are free!
You are healed!
You are delivered!
At the feet of Jesus!
I’d stay as long as I need.
For this I know,
My life will never be the same.
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation –
Psalm 62:1

The Word of God must be heard in the silence of the heart, the place in which it can be welcomed and given space so that it might become creative. – Esther de Waal
