Our guest today is Anne Emeka-Obiajunwa

Oneinspiredmum: Welcome ma’am. We are so excited to have you here.

Guest: Thank you. I am glad to be here.

Oneinspiredmum: Firstly, we have some quick questions we will like to ask you. Here we go.

1. What book are you currently reading?

Guest: The Christ Generation by Fanny Ekpekurede

2. Who or what inspires you?

Guest: The life of Christ, Apostle Paul and King David in the bible.

3. What does motherhood mean to you?

Guest: A privilege to steward another person’s purpose as I prepare them for it.

1. Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do?

Guest: I am Anne Emeka-Obiajunwa. I am a full-time minister and a part-time anything else. I shift people and places into alignment with God. You can find and follow her on social media.

2. Can you give us a little insight into your story?

Guest: I would say that I am a girl helped by God through every stage of her life. There is nothing I have ever gotten without first activating aggressive faith.

3. The waiting season can be hard for singles. What did your waiting season as a single woman look like especially after the failed relationships?

Guest: It is best described as a season filled with a burst of hope, coloured with faith and some stains of fear and tears. (laughs)

4. Share with us about meeting your husband.

Guest: I met my husband during JAMB Lessons ( JAMB is an examination taken to get into higher institution in Nigeria). My younger sister introduced us as she had enrolled for the lessons before I did. He tried to spark off those teenage “chyking (wooing)” at first but I solidly brother- zoned him. 13 years later and many events, we are married. God is an intelligent story teller.

5. You shared once about a series of gynecological issues you battled with in a season of your life. Tell us about your battle with fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and the continuous blood flow.

Guest: To put it in short story form, it would be that it was a season of my life when my body decided to rebel (Hahaha). I honestly never thought it could happen to me in this life or another. 9 fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, “supposed” damaged left ovary and some miscarriages after, I am finally a biological mother. 6. Did you at any point feel like giving up after all the medical diagnosis?

Guest: I never felt like giving up. I mean I had to be a mum for God’s sake. It made me desperately hold on to God. How could I give up? I was barely just beginning my life. Indeed, such medical report can break one, but then, faith is and was all I ever had.

7. Can you say that your faith was tested to its limit in that season of your life?

Guest: You bet it was. But then, I switched from just faith to aggressive faith. I got twin baby cots, decorated a mini-nursery, bought twin sets of clothes. I bought almost everything in pairs. I was desperate to see a manifestation.

8. What coping mechanisms did you embrace in that season?

Guest: I binged on baby videos on the internet. I steadily spoke to the items I bought in a bid to call forth my children. I declared myself pregnant and self- imposed a house arrest, saying I was pregnant. Aggressive faith was my coping mechanism.

9. It is easy to see many fall away from the faith when challenges of life hit hard. How were you able to stay afloat despite all that you were going through?

Guest: I would say that I dared to trust God and his love for me.

10. Talk to us about your support system during your journey of waiting.

Guest: Awww, I used a lot of it. My family and my husband’s family were very supportive and kind through it all. That cushioned the effect for me.

11. When it comes to waiting especially with regards to conceiving, many times women walk this path alone without spousal support. What was it like for you as a couple?

Guest: Thankfully my husband was and is a gem. All the shopping I did, were on him. He just wanted me to be happy so he kept funding my faith lists for the unborn babies. When we first got married,
sex was hell as Endometriosis kept getting in the way but I didn’t let my husband know that I was having a hard time.

One day he caught me crying and insisted I opened up. I did and he was so mad at the devil that he got a cup of water and blessed it with all the force in his spirit as he commanded Endometriosis to get out in Jesus name! Omo! I drank the water and since that day in 2019 till date. I have neither seen nor heard from the monster called Endometriosis. God is kind, jare.

Endometriosis is a condition in which cells similar to the lining of the uterus, or endometrium, grow outside the uterus. With endometriosis, the tissue can be found on the ovaries, fallopian tubes or the intestines. The most common symptoms are pain and menstrual irregularities. (Source: Google)

12. Losing a baby can be a very traumatic experience for any parent, especially when you have experienced the joy of a growing baby in your womb. How did you walk through the miscarriages?

Guest: Those are not days that I like to recall. I opened a website for my first. I mourned the second with my heart a bit aloof, I mourned the third with a different depth of brokenness. I am looking forward to meeting them in heaven.

13. You said these words in one of your articles speaking about God. ” I love you, whether you do it, take it, give it to me or don’t. I will serve you forever, regardless.” Where does this deep conviction come from?

Guest: When you have weathered a few storms with God, you come to know, trust and rely on the love God has for you. (1 John 4:19). That conviction came from my chronicles with God. I have gone too far to see any other option. It’s God or God.

14. Share with us a little bit about your miracle of conceiving and the joy of carrying your baby full term.

Guest: Oh Hallelujah! It happened like the other conceptions. Thankfully our pastor recommended a gynecologists who figured I needed progesterone. He placed me on the injections for weeks and voila, my baby thrived. Today I have a healthy daughter by God’s mercies. I legit look up her delivery pictures from time to time just to relive that moment of awe and gratitude to God. ( laughs) God is kind o.

15. What was it like for you in that moment to finally hold your baby girl in your arms?

Guest: Hahaha. Kai! It was a dream come true. I was so fulfilled. Tears freely rolled down my eyes.

16. Many women battle fibroids silently here in Nigeria today. Some have even taken all kinds of un-prescribed medication and drank herbal concoctions in their quest for healing. What can you say to them?

Guest: I drank things at first, but the pain grew from bearable to unbearable. This was because the fibroids were too many and of different sizes. Those concoctions just caused more damage. I will
suggest that anyone who gets a confirmation that the fibroids are large or numerous should just opt for a surgery.

I understand that it is 50-50 with some doctors but it’s worth the chance. I suggest you use a federal or general hospital because they have experts. God heals in different ways. He can heal you miraculously, but he also heals through doctors. Please save yourself the needless pain.

17. In those moments of uncertainty in your life about your health and future, what will you say fueled your unwavering trust in God?

Guest: My chronicles with him. He has proven faithful in the past. I knew he could be trusted.

18. Speak a word of encouragement to that woman who is in her waiting season and who may be battling with serious fertility issues.

Guest: I told myself this, children are God’s heritage and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Marriage is not a reward; therefore if he gave me a marriage, he won’t deny me the one thing he calls a reward. I’m telling you the same today. You will receive your reward too.

19. Your final word to everyone reading this interview.

Guest: God is kind, regardless of what happens or doesn’t happen. God is kind. He will be kind to you too.
