Every mother definitely needs powerful scriptures that she can pray as she navigates this motherhood path.

But as mothers, it is always so easy to slip away from the comfort, light and wisdom that the word of God can bring into our heart and lives. It is also true that life can happen, you are overwhelmed from the daily demands of motherhood and God’s voice has become faint.

However, in finding God’s light to navigate the highs and lows of motherhood, there are scriptures every mother can pray for herself.

Though mothers always believe that they can juggle all the balls perfectly in their lives and motherhood journey. We also believe that we are almost super-human and can do it all. But there should always be those times and alone moments, when we can sit back, catch a breath of fresh air and just learn to lean on God for wisdom and direction as we parent our kids and live life on purpose.

Why Every Mother Should Pray for Herself

“I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I stay joined to you, then you will produce lots of fruit. But you cannot do anything without me.” John 15:5 CEV

When you choose to pray regularly for yourself as a mother, you are acknowledging that someone greater is in control of the affairs of your life. And you become yielded to his sovereignty trusting in his ability to make something beautiful out of your life.

1. You remain connected to your one and only true source – God
2. You build intimacy with God.
3. You become deeply rooted in God and yielded to his purpose for your life.

Praying for yourself as a mother will put you in a position of constant submission to God’s will over your life and that of your children. You get to understand that on this parenting journey, you need God on a daily basis and cannot produce worthy fruits apart from him.

1. Having a Right Posture before God

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.”

Prayer : Lord, help me to come into your presence always with a clean heart and right spirit. May my posture before you always be that of worship and reverence to your sovereignty. Strip my heart and spirit of every form of uncleanliness, bitterness and unforgiveness. I declare that I have a right and steadfast spirit within me. Amen!

2. Having a Deep Hunger for God’s Word

Open my eyes to see the miracle-wonders hidden in your word.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask that each time I delve deep into your word, may my spirit man be open to see the glorious truths and wonders in your word. Let me see beyond the letters and receive insight into the deep things hidden in your word. I declare that my eyes are open to see the light, miracles and wisdom hidden in your word. Amen!

Prayer: Lord, thank you filling me with your wisdom. I pray that your wisdom will help me make right choices and good decisions concerning my children at all times. Thank you for flooding my heart with light and understanding in the knowledge of Christ. I declare that I am daily filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation. Amen!!

7. Knowing That God is Always With You and Will Never Forsake You

Prayer: Lord, thank you for never leaving me alone. I will not be depressed or dismayed when life throws its challenges at me. I am confident in the fact that you have said in your word that you go before me and with me. And that you will not fail me or forsake me. I declare that I am not depressed, broken or overwhelmed. Amen!
