Every mother definitely needs powerful scriptures that she can pray as she navigates this motherhood path.
But as mothers, it is always so easy to slip away from the comfort, light and wisdom that the word of God can bring into our heart and lives. It is also true that life can happen, you are overwhelmed from the daily demands of motherhood and God’s voice has become faint.
However, in finding God’s light to navigate the highs and lows of motherhood, there are scriptures every mother can pray for herself.
Though mothers always believe that they can juggle all the balls perfectly in their lives and motherhood journey. We also believe that we are almost super-human and can do it all. But there should always be those times and alone moments, when we can sit back, catch a breath of fresh air and just learn to lean on God for wisdom and direction as we parent our kids and live life on purpose.
Why Should Every Mother Pray for Herself
“I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I stay joined to you, then you will produce lots of fruit. But you cannot do anything without me.” John 15:5 CEV
When you choose to pray regularly for yourself as a mother, you are acknowledging that someone greater is in control of the affairs of your life. And you become yielded to his sovereignty trusting in his ability to make something beautiful out of your life.
When you pray :
1. You remain connected to your one and only true source – God
2. You build intimacy with God.
3. You become deeply rooted in God and yielded to his purpose for your life.
Praying for yourself as a mother will put you in a position of constant submission to God’s will over your life and that of your children. You get to understand that on this parenting journey, you need God on a daily basis and cannot produce worthy fruits apart from him.
What Will Prayer Do for You as a Mother?
“Prayer makes a godly man, and puts within him the mind of Christ, the mind of humility, of self-surrender, of service, of pity, and of prayer. If we really pray, we will become more like God, or else we will quit praying.” – E.M. Bounds
