1. Prayer for a Fresh Start

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:18-19

Father, I thank you for a brand-new year and another opportunity to begin again. I ask for grace to take my eyes off the former things – unachieved goals, unmet expectations and recurring challenges.

Help me heavenly father to embrace the new and let go of the old in my life. I shed off every weight of pain, trauma, hurt and abuse in my life that has held me captive in the past year. Lord, I look to you and trust you for new beginnings. Father, open my eyes to see the new dreams, new possibilities and new opportunities you have for me this year. I thank you Lord for a fresh start and I declare that every single day in this year will be blessed, fruitful and productive. Amen!

2. Prayer for Renewal

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. – Ezekiel 36:26

Lord renew and restore me to a place of intimacy with you. In areas of my life, where I have fallen short, father I ask for forgiveness today. Where my heart has gone cold, breathe new life into my spirit and faith. Give me a heart that is responsive to your spirit and word. Take away the hardness in my heart and give me a new heart that seeks after you.

I let go of wrong thoughts/ mindsets and declare that my mind is daily renewed to conform to the image of Christ. Holy Spirit, fill my heart that I may become more like Jesus every single day. Father, create a clean heart in me and always renew a right spirit within me. Amen!

Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you. The beginning of wisdom is this: get wisdom and whatever you get, get insight. – Proverbs 4:6-7

Lord, today I ask that you pour out your wisdom afresh on me today. I want to know your wisdom. I will choose your wisdom above everything else because your word says wisdom is the principal thing. Fill me afresh with the spirit of wisdom and open my understanding to always discern between right and wrong. Lord help me to be quick to discern between your will and my human desires.

I pray today for a fresh outpouring of heavenly wisdom so that I will always make wise decisions that are in alignment with your will and purpose for me. Lord, help me to grow in wisdom as I increase in my knowledge and fear of you. Let my life be a true reflection of godly wisdom. Amen!

Father, I thank you for the gift of salvation and the gift of faith. I pray that my faith in God will not waver when trials and challenges come. Help me to remain steadfast in your word and in faith in your unfailing love and kindness to me.

You are the same God who has carried me through the uncertainty of deep waters in time past and you will do it again and again. I refuse to cower in fear when the enemy rears its ugly head. I receive grace and strength to stand firm and fight my battles in the Lord’s name and strength. I am fully clothed in the armor of God and hold firmly the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. The greater one lives inside me and will help me overcome all my battles at all times.
