12 Biblical Health Confessions to Speak Over Your Body

Do you find yourself speaking words over your life and body that does not align with God’s truth?

In a world filled with noise, negative news dominating the media space, cases of rare diseases, and death taking the lives of young people. It is easy to let fear control our actions, and the words we speak. But, as children of God, we are called to speak life over our life and circumstances — especially over our minds and bodies.

Are your words draining and harming you? Why not draw healing, strength and peace into your life by speaking faith-filled words today. Every time you speak God’s word over yourself and into your life, you are stirring up your faith in your heart, and realigning your heart with heaven’s reality. Your words are seeds. And you need to think and ask -What kind of seeds am I planting in my mind and body with my words?

Why Confessions and Scriptural Declarations Matter

In 2015, my doctor announced that I would give birth to my second child by an emergency Cesarean section. Fear took over in that moment and tears welled up in my eyes. I had confessed to having a quick and easy vaginal delivery throughout that pregnancy. But it was not to be. All kinds of negative thoughts danced through my mind. I was also held captive by a stronghold of fear about C-sections in my mind. But I had to counter that lie with God’s truth quickly.

This Bible verse was one I always held on to during my pregnancies. “I will not labor in vain or bring forth children for trouble” – Isaiah 65: 23. I confessed this promise from God during my two pregnancies and God reminded me of that verse right there  And shortly before I was wheeled into the theatre for my c-section, Psalm 91 came to mind. I spent some minutes declaring the promises of God from that scripture and went in for my surgery with faith in my heart.

God has given us powerful promises in the bible that we can claim and speak over our lives. Scriptures are not just to be read, but internalized, personalized, and declared in faith. If you are struggling with negative and depressing thoughts, the word of God can stir your thinking in the right direction. If you are having challenges with your health and body, God’s word can make you whole and well again.

You can use God’s word to counter Satan’s lies and resist the attacks of the enemy. When you speak or declare God’s word, you are not only activating your faith, you are moving God to act on your behalf. So, when you confess God’s word aloud over your body and health, you are activating the healing power of God, and calling forth his peace over your mind and situation. Every declaration spoken in faith invites the presence and power of God. Remember this:

1.  Choose your words. Your words kill or give life.

“The tongue has the power of life and death.” – Proverbs 18:21

2. Speak Truth over Lies

“Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” – Joel 3:10

3. Send your words on a mission

“He sent His Word and healed them…” – Psalm 107:20
